If Heaven is a farm full of good vibes and beautiful happy people then I have officially arrived! Who ever is running the show at Farmers Table in La Mesa deserves a life time supply of hugs and kisses because this place is truly a dream come true. You can feel the positive energy flowing around as soon as you walk in and are greeted by smiles from every single employee. The cozy rustic farm house vibe is complete with farm equipment, tractors, distressed wood, refurbished metal lighting fixtures and bursts of greenery and sunflowers scattered around strategically.
There were so many delicious selections on the menu that I began planning my next visit before I had even finished ordering my first. Our waitress Cherie had the smile of an angel that remained in place as I watched her fluidly float between tables checking on everyone’s needs with perfect precision. Everybody that worked there seemed to move like a well choreographed ballet.
I was too busy drooling over the contents in the Farmers Salad that I ordered, to remember that I didn’t even like arugula. The Farmer’s Salad consisted of Wild arugula, candied walnuts, crumbled feta, and seasonal fruit (melon, strawberry, blueberry, grapes). The salad was perfectly complimented by a gorgeous pink pomegranate vinaigrette that was so delicious I had to get extra so I could drizzle it on everything in sight and dip extra bread in it, even though I don’t normally even eat bread. I really wanted to end with something sweet and it was a toss up between the Bonfire Pancakes (s’mores pancakes say What?!) and the Tiramisu French Toast but I was too stuffed to order more. Next time I visit I might even go wild and order dessert first!
After our meal, I wandered around taking pictures of the vintage farmhouse decor and chatted with the staff, some of whom ended up knowing my father (a local ex high school teacher from Helix High), and I. I left perfectly satisfied in every way and I can’t wait to return and see what their dinner menu is like. I added pictures of the DayTime Menu below for you all to drool over. You can thank me after you tasted one or more of these delicious dishes yourself. If you end up visiting Farmer’s Table in La Mesa (or have visited before in the past) I would LOVE it if you commented below with your thoughts on the place!
